Mary Verel, is a Master Gardener, a member of the Oak Hills Authority, and on the Board of Directors of the Norwalk Land Trust. Her presentation will cover the movement toward natural gardening and alternative lawns as approaches that are beneficial to pollinators.

Sarah Cruz, arborist/horticulturist for the Norwalk Parks and Recreation Department, discusses her role in developing a master tree plan, completing a tree inventory, and ensuring appropriate vegetation in the city parks and public spaces in a presentation, “Norwalk Tree Programs.”

Paula Wolf, the State of Connecticut Apiary Inspector with the Connecticut Agricultural Experimental Station, presents “The Buzz about Honeybees, Pollination, Honey, and Protecting our Pollinators.” She will discuss ways that gardeners can help to provide habitats that encourage health and increase populations of these essential pollinators.
